Art
Rachel Fingerman
Hello! My name is Rachel Fingerman, and I am honored to be the art teacher at Wyatt Elementary. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the University of North Texas, with minors in Art History and Psychology. During my teacher preparation program, I completed my student observations at Wyatt Elementary and my student teaching in Plano ISD, making it especially meaningful to return to the Wyatt community as a teacher.
As an art educator, I strive to create a welcoming, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to express themselves creatively. I believe art is a powerful way for students to build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and discover their unique artistic voice. My goal is to provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. My teaching philosophy is grounded in creative inquiry, student choice, and meaningful artistic expression.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, caring for my houseplants, and spending time with family and friends. I am excited to be part of the Wyatt Elementary family and look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a wonderful year of learning and creativity.
